Description:
A flat-style oven igniter used in gas ranges and ovens. This component heats up to ignite the gas burner in the oven. A failed igniter can cause the oven to not heat or to take an unusually long time to reach temperature. It’s commonly used across GE, Hotpoint, and Kenmore gas ovens, this igniter is universal for all brands that use the flat style oven igniter.
Installation Notes:
Before servicing, disconnect all power and shut off the gas supply. Access to the igniter typically requires removal of the oven bottom panel and possibly the burner cover. Handle the igniter carefully — the ceramic glow bar is fragile and can break if stressed. Connect wires securely, using high-temperature porcelain nuts or connectors where appropriate.
