6931EL3003D - Dryer Thermal Fuse
Description:
High-limit thermostat used on many LG-built dryers (including Kenmore 796-prefix models). It opens the heating circuit when the dryer overheats, helping prevent damage and unsafe temperatures. Common symptoms when failed: no heat, heat cutting out, or repeated overheating events tied to restricted venting.
Installation Notes:
Disconnect power. Access the heater/duct housing (panel removal varies by model). Transfer wires to the new part one at a time, mount it firmly to the housing (good contact matters), and clear lint/vent restrictions before running the dryer again—overheating is often caused by airflow issues.
